Hamas rejects latest ceasefire proposal

Hamas rejected the latest Israeli proposal to release the remaining hostages and a new ceasefire because it does not include the end of the war, Israeli media reported on Thursday, Hamas official Khalil Hamas official said.
Al-Hayya said in his speech that Islamists would not agree to part of the agreement.
The last ceasefire phase ended about a month ago after Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas failed to reach an agreement on the next step in the deal.
Hamas demanded the implementation of the second phase of the agreement, which included the end of the war and the evacuation of Israeli soldiers. This stage should have started in early March.
Hamas reportedly prepared to negotiate a deal that is expected to release all hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and end the war.
The Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday that the current draft includes releases of 10 hostages for a 45-day ceasefire.
Israeli information shows that 24 living hostages and 35 kidnappers are currently being held in the Gaza Strip.
