Russian President Vladimir Putin told U.S. President Donald Trump on a call Wednesday that he would have to attack Ukraine's high-profile Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian nuclear attackers and Moscow blamed Kiev for deadly bridge bomb attacks.
After nearly four months of coking and Trump’s threat to Moscow and Kiev, Ukraine’s war is intensifying, and they say he wants peace after more than three years in Europe’s deadliest conflict since World War II.

The Kremlin said Trump had told Putin that Washington was not informed before the Ukrainian attack. Trump's Ukrainian envoy said the risk of an escalating Ukrainian war was “left” after the strike.
Russia and the United States are by far the largest nuclear powers in the world: they share 88% of all nuclear weapons.

Kiev also accused Moscow of not seriously wanting peace, citing Russia's resistance to an immediate ceasefire. Russia says certain conditions must be met first.
Putin did not mention the bomber attack in his public remarks, which took place ahead of direct peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul, where Moscow articulated the goals of what the United States called “maximalists.”
Before Putin's speech, other Russian officials said the military choice was “on the table” because of its attacks deep in the Ukrainian attacks and accused the West of participating.
