Cowboys' former second-round draft pick arrested, charged after killing motorcycle riders in crash

The Cowboys were charged in a 2021 second-round draft pick centre-back Kelvin Joseph in a charge in a Dallas-area crash that killed a motorcyclist Saturday morning.
A 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a 5 a.m. crash that closed the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 75 for more than three hours.

Joseph himself called police in Plano shortly thereafter to report that he had had a crash with a motorcycle. Authorities observed signs of intoxication in conversation with the 25-year-old cornerback; he was later arrested and charged with a DWI and a collision involving personal injury or death.
No other vehicles or personnel were located at the crash site, and the expressway later reopened, according to police.
The Cowboys traded Joseph in just two seasons to send him to Miami ahead of the 2023 campaign. He has since spent some time with Seattle, Kansas City, Indianapolis and Minnesota, even though he hasn't played in all of these clubs. He was signed by UFL's DC Defenders in February.
After his rookie season, Joseph was the subject of a March 2022 investigation, a 20-year-old Dallas man was shot and killed outside a nightclub near Greenville, the lower level. After surveillance video, Joseph was initially labeled as “the person who is interested”, which helped him identify him with a diamond necklace wearing a rap name. He claimed through his lawyer that he was a passenger in the car that shot, but he denied that he was a gunman. After meeting with investigators, Joseph was officially cleared and two men in Joseph's hometown of Baton Rouge were arrested.
