Israel launches strike in Iran, saying it targets nuclear military sites – State

Israel attacked Iran's capital earlier on Friday, and the Tehran bomb broke out.
An Israeli military official said the Israeli Air Force targeted Iranian nuclear and military sites but did not identify them. Officials spoke with reporters on anonymous condition to discuss ongoing actions.
Air squirrels sounded preventively in Israel.
The attack was as tensions reached new heights in Tehran's rapidly developing nuclear program. For the first time in 20 years, the IAEA's board of directors condemned Iran for not cooperating with inspectors. Iran immediately announced that it would establish a third fulfilling site in the country and replace some centrifuges with more advanced centrifuges.
Israel has warned for years that it would not allow Iran to build nuclear weapons, which Tehran insists is not wanted – despite repeated warnings from officials there.
U.S. senator calls for Israel's strike to escalate
U.S. Senator Jack Reed, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Forces Committee, said the Israeli strike “sustaining escalation has the potential to inspire regional violence.”
“These strikes threaten not only the lives of innocent civilians, but also the stability of the entire Middle East and the security of American citizens and forces,” he said. Reid added: “I urge both countries to limit immediately and I call on President Trump and our international partners to urge diplomacy to be demoted before this crisis gets further out of control.”

Netanyahu says strike to deal with threats to Israel's existence
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a speech on YouTube that the country's “targeted military operations have reversed the very existential threat of Iran to Israel.”
He added that the attack would “take many days to eliminate this threat.”
Israel closed the airspace for anticipating Iranian retaliation.
Israeli Defense Minister Katz warned that attacks were expected.
“As the Israeli State prevented attacks on Iran, missile and drone attacks will be immediately attacked on Israel and its civilians,” he said in a statement.
The statement added that Katz “signed a special order to declare an emergency on the national front.”
It said: “The Family Front command and the authorities’ instructions to remain in the reserve must be listened to.”
Rubio said Israel took “unilateral action”
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Israel had taken “unilateral action against Iran”, and Israel recommended that the United States considers strikes a necessary condition for its self-defense, while warning Iran not to retaliate against U.S. troops.
“Tonight, Israel has taken unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in the strike against Iran, and our priority is to protect the U.S. military in the region. Israel recommends that we think this action is necessary. President Trump defends himself.
Israeli officials say the air force is targeting nuclear military
