Alison Arngrim starred in Little House oon The Prairie, Nellie Oleson, who believes there is an episode in the series that won't be released today.

In an episode of the recent Little House 50 podcast, Arngrim talked with host Pamela Bob and Little House co-star Dean Butler about the show’s fourth season, titled “Here Is Here’s The Bride,” which aired in 1977.

This episode tells the story of how Oleson was paid tribute to the town’s teenage boy Luke Simms. After a brief romance, the two looked up. However, after their parents found out, they were brought back to peace and justice, unmarried.

Oresen said she had just turned 15 when they filmed the episode. Her role should be 13 years old.

“I’m super… teenager [with] Arngrim explained that puberty insanity occurred. She is only 13 years old. This cat is, he is playing 16, 17. He is in his 20s. ”

Arngrim said of how the character reacted to Simms’ appearance: “It’s a young girl – the child – raising an adult man who was not introduced to them.”

“It won't happen today, right?” Bob asked. “The guy who casts an adult who plays and even kisses – that's an innocent kiss, but it's a kiss – a minor.”

Arngrim recalled that shooting was awkward from the start, noting that she hadn't encountered her screen love interest before she started shooting.

“I think we're like on the first day or something,” she said. “Maybe the second day – the second day? It's very quickly, like, 'Hi, introduce yourself, now you're in love.''

Arngrim noted that if similar scenes were filmed today, the age gap between young actors would not be significant. The intimate coordinator who did not exist at the time will also be on site.

The former children’s star described Marsic bringing his girlfriend to the scene at some point while filming the episode.

“That was another weird moment,” said Arngrim on the podcast. “His girlfriend shows up, which is weird because it's like…the kind of vague thing she wants to stay there in a romantic scene.”

“I thought at the time, does this woman think I'm a threat?” she smiled. “Really? This 15-year-old pimply girl? No. No. I'm not a threat to your relationship. I'm not a man who steals you.”

Back in June 2024, Butler talked to Fox News Digital about his discovery that he will give him 15-year-old co-star Melissa Gilbert on screen and in real life, who will experience anxiety on screen and in real life.

Butler was performed at the age of 23 in a popular TV show aired from 1974 to 1983.

“You can't do it today,” the actor played Almanzo Wilder in “Little House.” “The rebound will be too much. It's worth noting that we didn't hit back more than we did…but I think it's handled so elegantly that people… forget about the difference in age.”

“I think the audience has been watching Melissa for years and loves her very much,” Butler shared. “They want to see when she was so honest and naive to announce her love for this young man. She fell in love since the first time she stared at him. The audience was ready to come for it.”

According to Butler, the characters in the original book series should have a 10-year-old age difference. He noted that Gilbert had “full trust” in her TV dad, who carefully supervised the scene.

“The relationship between Melissa and Michael Landon in her life was a very strong relationship,” Butler said. “When Michael said, 'This is for you guys,' she was ready to stop all the anxiety and just step in. Michael never brought any mistakes to anyone in this series. He was really disappointed. He knew what he was doing. He was very confident in his creativity. He believed it would work.”

“I'm really grateful to be someone he feels he can believe this,” Butler added.

Still, both Butler and Gilbert must overcome their fears in an attempt to bring the scene to life.

“I think a lot of young actresses may fold under pressure,” Butler said. “Melissa has no experience. She has never dated. Never kissed anyone. Never did that.

The two smoothed in a plot titled “Sweet Sixteen”. Butler said nearly 100 people surrounded them to make sure the camera was perfect.

“My job is to really be the gentleman I grew up with and make her as easy as possible,” Butler shared. “Since then, there has been no actor pairing like what we did to us. The actors today will never happen. Of course not on mainstream TV shows.”
