Minnesota State Councilor shooting suspect Vance Boelter arrested in Sibley County

Minneapolis – The suspect Vance Boelter is accused of shooting two Minnesota lawmakers, killing one and her husband.

Boelter, 57, was arrested in Sibley County after a two-day hunt. He allegedly killed Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman Her husband, Mark, was allegedly shot and killed state Sen. John Hoffman, also Democrat, at his home in Brooklyn Park in Minneapolis early Saturday morning, at his home in nearby Champlin.

The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News that Boelter “verbally” determined the authorities to look for him in the area Sunday night.

“Evil faces. The murderer is now detained after a relentless and determined police work,” the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post. “Justice is one step closer thanks to the dedication of multiple agencies working together with the support of the community.”

Hennepin County District Court issued a criminal lawsuit accusing Boelter of second-degree murder on four counts of felony charges (without premeditation).

Complaints charge Boelter charges two counts of second-degree murder for victims 1 and 2 deaths – all charges of second-degree murder in Melissa and Mark Hortman were identified, as murdered in the shootings of the victim, were identified as charges of John Hoffman and John Hoffman and Yvette Hoffman, all charges are culprits and have 40 years of sentences each year.

Boelter intends to kill four individuals with a gun, including two elected officials, the complaint says.

Surveillance footage captured a man in police style gear, who was later identified as a Boelter, approaching the house on a Ford SUV equipped with police style lights. Authorities said videos showed Boelter declared himself a police officer before entering the residence and shooting the victim.

About 90 minutes later, Brooklyn Park police learned that lawmakers were involved in an earlier shooting and were sent to another legislator's home with preventive measures, the documents said.

After arriving around 3:35 a.m., officials witnessed Boelter shooting 2 through the open front door. Officers found victims 1 and 2 died from gunshot wounds.

The documents say authorities discovered the disturbing Arsenal that Boelter owns. In his car, police registered in his car and found three AK-47 assault rifles, a 9mm pistol and other public officials’ names and addresses.

His bail was set at $5 million.

Authorities say the suspects carried out a planned attack on lawmakers, appearing in their homes wearing police-like uniforms and masks.
