Iran's secret nuclear ruins and bombs that could destroy it

If the United States decides to support Israeli attacks on Iran more directly, one option is to provide a “bridge nemesis” bomb that believes that the Fordo nuclear fuel-rich plants in central Iran must be severely damaged and built on the mountain.

Such a bomb must fall from a U.S. plane. Israeli officials also suggested that in central Iran there are other options to attack Fordo as it attempts to destroy the country's nuclear capabilities.

But besides a commando attack or nuclear strike on the ground, the Bunker Buster bomb appears to be the most likely option.

Iran's underground nuclear site Fordo

Fordo is Iran's second nuclear-rich facility, second only to its main facility, Natanz, which has become an Israeli air strike.

Fordo is smaller than Natanz and is built on the mountain side near QOM city, about 95 kilometers southwest of Tehran. Construction is believed to have started around 2006 and was first operated in 2009 – that year Tehran publicly acknowledged its existence.

In addition to estimated 80 meters (260 feet) under rock and soil, the site is also protected by Iranian and Russian ground-oriented air missile systems. However, these air defense measures may have been attacked in the Israeli movement.

Nevertheless, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the target of the attack on Iran was to eliminate its missile and nuclear program, which he described as a threat to Israel, and officials said Fordo was part of the program.

What is a Bunker Buster Bomb?

“Bunker Buster” is a broad term used to describe a bomb that is designed to penetrate deep into the surface before it explodes. In this case, it refers to the latest GBU-57 A/B large-scale ordnance penetrator bomb in the U.S. arsenal. According to the U.S. Air Force, approximately 30,000 pounds (13,600 kilograms) of precision bombs are designed to attack buried and hardened bunkers and tunnels.

In theory, any bomber capable of bearing weight can abandon the bunker, but the United States has only configured and programmed its B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber to deliver the bomb.

The B-2 is only flew by the U.S. Air Force and is produced by Northrop Grumman, which means that only the United States can bomb Ford site.

Whether the United States is involved is another matter.

“I might do that, I might not do it,” U.S. President Donald Trump said in a conversation with reporters on Wednesday. “I mean, no one knows what I'm going to do.”

Trump added that Iran continues to weigh our participation in Israeli military operations aimed at crushing Tehran's nuclear program, which is not “too late”.
