Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez hit a hurdle in their $48 million wedding plan
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have already held wedding celebrations in Venice, Italy, but not everyone is happy to spend it there.
So far, they have kept the event to the $500 million superyacht Koru, the founder of Amazon, and held a bubble party, Daily Mailphotos. Still, the June 28 ceremony was angered locals who had placed protest banners on them, with messages like “no space for Bezos,” “Venetian: a playground for oligarchs” and “If you can rent out Venice for your wedding, you can pay more taxes.”
Venetian activist Federica Toninelli, who led the Bezos movement, told the BBC: “Venezia is seen as a display cabinet, the stage and this wedding is a symbol of the outside world's exploitation of the city… Venice is now… now an asset. This wedding is a use of the city.

While most wedding plans have been kept secret for months, Toninelli's team believes that the former school armory Scuola Grande Delle Misericordia was the reception desk on June 28.
“Bezos will never arrive at Mises,” she said in a protest earlier this month. “We will block the canal, line up the streets with bodies, block the canal with inflatables, Dinghays, ships.”
Now, local Italian paper Il Gazzettino Scuola Grande Della Misericordia's party claims to have moved to a site in the city's Arsenai area due to “global tensions.” The new location will report that the new location will make any protests easier to manage.
Reports for the week-long wedding celebrations are $48 million, according to Daily Mail. This will be Bezos' second wedding. He was previously married to Mackenzie Scott for 25 years. Sánchez married Patrick Whitesell, the Hollywood agent of Colossus for 14 years.
