Two deaths as a severe storm hit France

Local media reported on Wednesday that two people died in France during a severe storm, sweeping the country in a severe storm.

Broadcasting firm BFMTV reported that in the Tarn-It-Galcon department in southern France, a 12-year-old boy died while he tried to get to safety with his family.

Meanwhile, in a village in northwestern France, a four-wheeled bicycle rider crashed into a tree lying on the road to die.

In many parts of France, temperatures soared above 30 degrees Celsius, before giving way to violent thunderstorms. The gusts of wind extend up to 120 kilometers per hour, causing serious weather warnings in 57 departments.

Civil Defense officials said emergency services responded greatly to the incident as more than 100,000 households temporarily lost power.

In Paris, Prime Minister François Bayrou urged residents of affected areas to be very cautious. According to BFMTV, he personally experienced the impact of a severe storm on Paris, and while the MPs met, heavy rains caused water to seep into the parliament building, forcing a brief pause.

On the top of the Eiffel Tower, the wind reaches 112 km per hour. Heavy rains flooded many subway stations and caused traffic problems. In just 20 minutes, temperatures in Paris dropped by 11 degrees Celsius.
