Russia aims to stay away from the frontline Ukraine

Local media reported on Sunday that Russia launched a wave of large missiles and drone strikes overnight.

Kiev independents said air raids were sirens across the country, including in the western region far from the frontline.

Late Saturday, the Ukrainian Air Force had warned Russian bombers and drones targeting multiple regions.

Explosions were reported in the areas of Zaporizhhya, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Cherkasy.

News Agency RBK-Ikraine reported that explosions were also heard in Kyiv at night.

Cherkasy's governor initially reported at least three injuries and damage to civilian infrastructure cited by Kiev independents. Strike damage has also been reported in other regions.

The combat command of the Polish armed forces quoted by the newspaper said that in response to the attack in western Ukraine (forthcoming Poland), the fighter jets were refueled and ground air defenses were activated.
