Jake Paul defeated former middleweight champion Julio César Chávez Jr Saturday night in Anaheim, California.

“All boos are words, and movements are better than words, so you can all turn off f —-up!” Paul said in a post-match interview, mocking gestures in the crowd. “I'm hips, I'm really hips, I just beat your boys – fifth grade jobs, wait until I'm leaving more mothers!”

Paul (12-1, 7 Kos) appears to face his most accomplished opponent in Chávez (54-7-2), and faces his unique boxing career risks in front of a group of Southern California’s fan kings.

“I thought I lost the first five rounds, so I tried to win the last round,” Chavez said. “He was strong and a good boxer in the first three rounds. After that, I felt he was tired. I don't think he was ready to win the championship, but he was a good fighter.”

Chávez, who has been fighting once since 2021, is known for failing to maximize the potential of his father's genetics. He remains by far the most reliable boxer to share the ring with Paul, who has now been 5 1/2 years and has fought 13 times in his lucrative fighting career.
