71 Death in Israeli attack on Avan prison in Tehran

An Iranian spokesman said Sunday that Israeli attacks on Tehran’s infamous Evan prison caused at least 71 people to attack.

The figures of spokesman Asghar Jahangir were released on the official channels of Iranian judiciary Mizan.

Jahangir said that this included prison staff, recruits, prisoners and their families. Reports cannot be verified independently.

For decades, Evan Prison has been notorious for serious violations of human rights and political dissidents.

The Israeli Air Force bombed Evan on Monday, a symbolic blow to the Iranian government.

Iranian radicals condemned the attack, saying it endangered the lives of political prisoners.

It is reported that the administrative part of the building was destroyed.

The inmates were said to have been transferred to other detention centers after the attack, and the situation was reported to be worse.

Prosecutor Ali Ghanatkar is believed to be one of the people killed in the Israeli attack.

He was partly responsible for the conviction of Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi, who himself was in prison.

Shortly before the ceasefire came into effect on June 24, the strike against Evan prison took place in the recent war between Israel and Iran.
