Audio of the moment of release Idaho firefighters ambush responding to fire: “We have an emergency”

Audio from the scene from Cutai County, Idaho, the voices of firefighters responding to the fire reveal the moment of calling for help.
Two firefighters were killed in a sniper ambush Sunday afternoon and another firefighter was injured. Authorities later found the body of a late man with a gun nearby and canceled the existing shelter.
The Kutennena County Sheriff's Office said firefighters reportedly fired on Canfield Hill north of coeur d'Alene and fired about half an hour later gunfire sounded about 1:30 p.m.
In the audio on the scene, a firefighter said there was an “emergency” and “an active shooter on the fire.”

“We need to enforce the law right here immediately,” the firefighter told a dispatcher.
“We have another Coeur d'Alene Firefighter…We have two unresponsive battalion heads, multiple gunshot wounds, two Coeur d'Alenes fell down…I was nailed,” the caller continued.
The caller also said the fire “was intentionally attracted us.”
“For me, this fire was intended to attract us,” the caller said.
Kutnerai County Sheriff Robert Norris said in a press conference late Sunday afternoon that two firefighters were killed and another firefighter fought for his life, despite stable condition after undergoing surgery.

Later, the body of a late man, a few hours after the ambush, was found nearby. (KHQ)
Authorities used cell phone information to track the body of the suspicious sniper.
Firefighters had to retreat due to the danger, and the brush fire continued to pose a threat.

Idaho Gov. Brad Little said the incident had attacked “multiple” firefighters.
He wrote on X: “When a fire broke out in Northern Idaho today, several heroic firefighters were attacked. This was an outrageous direct attack on our brave firefighters. I asked all Idahos to wait for them to wait for more prayers to them and their families.

Dan Bongino, deputy director of the FBI, said the agency responded to the scene with technical team and tactical support.
