U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit ruled Russ Mayor Karen Bass, City Council for Asylum Policy

The U.S. Department of Justice sued the city of Los Angeles together on Monday, Mayor Karen Bass and City Council members, calling its sanctuary law “illegal” and demanding it be blocked.
The lawsuit was filed in California's Central Federal Court, which said the country “faces a crisis of illegal immigration” but its efforts are “hindered by sanctuary cities such as Los Angeles, which refuses to cooperate or share information when requested, i.e.
Over the past month, immigrant agents have landed in Southern California, arresting more than 1,600 immigrants and prompting protests. According to the lawsuit, Los Angeles has refused to work with federal immigration authorities since June 6, resulting in “lawlessness, riots, robbery and destructiveness.”
“This situation has become so serious that the federal government deployed the California National Guard and the U.S. Marines to calm the chaos,” the lawsuit states. “The direct confrontation with federal immigration authorities is an inevitable result of the sanctuary law.”
In a statement to Fox News, Artie. General Pam Bondi said the shelter policy was “a cause of violence, chaos and the promotion of recent law enforcement attacks against Americans who witnessed in Los Angeles.”
“Judges like Los Angeles undermine law enforcement at all levels by prioritizing illegal foreigners over U.S. citizens,” Bondy said.
La Mayor Karen Bass did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The federal lawsuit is because elected officials in the city have been weighing their own lawsuits against the Trump administration, aiming to prohibit immigration agents from infringing on the constitutional rights of their voters.
The city council is scheduled to meet Tuesday to ask the city Atti. Hydee Feldstein Soto prioritizes “taking legal action immediately” to protect LA residents from racial image or illegal searches or detention.
Beth has been outspoken about the damage caused by immigration raids in her city, saying they have torn apart the families and created a vibe of fear in parks, churches, shopping areas and other locations. She said the city was peaceful until federal agents began to show up at home in warehouses, parking lots and other locations.
“I want to tell him to stop the raids. I want to tell him that it is a city of immigrants. I want to tell him that if you want to destroy the city's economy and then attack the immigrant population.”
