Ronnie Coleman, 61-year-old bodybuilding legend, hospitalized

Ronnie Coleman, a bodybuilding legend who shared historic records with eight Olympia champions and was hospitalized on weekends due to a “severe medical condition.”
Coleman’s family posted a statement on the Facebook page of Louisiana natives.

“We want to inform Ronnie's fans, supporters and bodybuilding community that Ronnie Coleman was taken to the hospital last Sunday morning due to a serious medical condition,” the statement on Monday read. “He is currently receiving professional medical services and continues to show incredible strength and resilience.
“At present, we have not shared other details as the focus remains on Ronnie's recovery and well-being. We ask your understanding and support to keep the environment respectful and free guessing.”
Coleman first announced that he would deal with health issues on Sunday, saying he was dealing with a “medical emergency” that would prevent him from withdrawing from an event in the UK, according to the New York Post.
After years of waiting
He told fans not to worry and said he was “awesome in his hands.”
Coleman's family expressed optimism.
“Ronnie has always inspired the world with his resilience and heart, and we know he feels his love and energy are being conveyed.”

Coleman, 61, played college football in Granblin State under the leadership of legendary Eddie Robinson in the late 1980s. He began bodybuilding in 1990.

He has won 26 international fitness and bodybuilding sports. His eight Mr. Olympia's victory was on a row, and he was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
