People face the first “incel” case in France, suspected of conspiracy to attack women – State

The French National Counter-Terrorism Prosecutor (PNAT) said on Wednesday that an 18-year-old French man claimed to have arrested a campaign with misogynistic “Incel” (involuntary celibacy) and was accepted by the French National Counter-Terrorism Prosecutor (PNAT) on Wednesday, a formal investigation into the alleged planned attacks against women.

This is the first time that PNAT has adopted a case related to the “Incel” campaign, an online male network that inspires violence against women who believe they unjustly reject their sexual or romantic progress.

On Tuesday, PNAT confirmed it had conducted a judicial investigation of the 18-year-old, who claimed to be a member of the Incel movement, adding that he was under investigation because he “connected with terrorist criminals to prepare for crimes against people”.

Sources close to the investigation confirmed that French media reported that the suspect was arrested near a school in the Saint-Teen area in central France and a man carrying two knives was suspected of planning to attack the woman.
