Tehran provides minimal compensation for damage caused by Israel's strike

According to Iran International International, no government officials commented on residents outside Tehran.

Iranian International Media, headquartered in the anti-regime of the UK, reported that the mayor of Tehran proposed to pay up to 80 million Iranian riyals (about $88 per square meter) to repair damaged houses in Tehran when Israel strikes in June.

Iran International International reported that Alireza Zakani offered such compensation for repairs “so that people can return to normal life as soon as possible.”

Local real estate data cited by anti-regime media show that the average price of housing per square meter in Tehran is about $1,000, which makes Zakani's proposed compensation less than one-tenth of what it takes to rebuild a home at market prices.

Iran International noted that the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development claimed that about 3,500 housing units in Tehran were damaged by Israeli strikes during Operation Rising Lion.

The report added that no government officials commented on the compensation schemes for residents outside Tehran.
