Ukraine says as Russia sends hundreds of drones into Ukraine – the country

Ukraine said it attacked Russia's air base on Saturday, while Russia continued to slam the Ukraine with hundreds of drones as part of a strengthening of the explosive bombing campaign, which went all out to end the war for more than three years.

Ukrainian military personnel said Ukrainian troops attacked the Borisoglebsk air base in the Voronezh region of Russia, describing it as the base of the Russian SU-34, SU-35 and SU-30SM Fighter Jets.

The General Staff wrote on Facebook that it hit a warehouse with Glide bombs, training aircraft and “probably other aircraft.”

Russian officials did not immediately comment on the attack.

This attack on Russian air bases is intended to undermine Russia's military capabilities and demonstrate that Ukraine is capable of achieving Russia's high-value targets. Last month, Ukraine said it destroyed more than 40 Russian aircraft and was stationed in several airports deep in Russian territory, in a surprising drone attack.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday that his phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump was “very important and effective”.

According to Zelenskyy's statement, the two leaders discussed how to strengthen Ukrainian air defense, possible joint weapons production between the United States and Ukraine, and the broader U.S.-led efforts to end the war with Russia.

“I think we have a good call,” Trump said when asked about the phone Friday night.

Asked about finding a way to end the fight, Trump said: “I don't know. I can't tell you if this will happen.”
