State Governor Babagana Zulum said the attack was carried out by Boko Haram militants on the Malam Fatori community. He didn't say when the attack happened.

The governor, represented by local government commissioner Sugun Mai Mele, visited the community and warned residents not to work with Boko Haram militants.

“Anyone who finds harm or attacks with the rebels for the Malam Fortori will be cursed,” he said.

The revival of the Boko Haram attack has been rocking northeast Nigeria in recent months as Islamic extremists repeatedly seized military posts, mined bombs and raided civilian communities, which raised concerns that despite military personnel successfully recaptured Boko Haram-er-Security, it could return to the peak of Peak Boko Haram-erscerity.

Last month, a suicide bomber allegedly killed at least 10 people and was injured in an explosion in a restaurant in the Borno Kundaga region as the state worked to curb the attacks by extremists.

Boko Haram, a native jihadist group in Nigeria, raised his weapons in 2009 to fight Western education and impose their radical Islamic laws. The conflict also poured into Nigeria's northern neighbors.
