S. The AI image of “Anti-choice Interview” flocking in South Korea spreads online
Two AI images surfaced after South Korea was attacked by a love aggression, posts falsely claiming they portrayed an animal rights activist protesting pest control measures. These images initially appear in online parody accounts and contain visual errors that indicate they are not true.
Korean Language Post shared on Facebook on July 4, 2025 “Disgusting Environmentalist Cockroaches, Hypocritical Pests.”
The post also questioned why radicals did not speak out for North Korea’s reports of discharge of uranium waste into rivers flowing into the south (a link to archive).
The post features two images from an interview with “Go Gi-Yeong” by “Animal Rights Activist”.
According to the title of the first image, she said: “Currently, innocent lovebugs are being massacred. We should be a society that coexists and prevents these massacres.”
She looked in pain when lovebugs flocked to her in the second picture, Subtitles indicate she swears on the insect.

South Korea's environmental authorities carried out extensive pest control operations nationwide after the explosion (archived link) exploded in late June. These insects, nicknamed for their unique mating behavior, were first recorded in South Korea during an outbreak 2022 (Archive link).
However, some environmental and animal rights groups, including South Korea Greenpeace, criticized the indistinguishable spraying (archive link).
The same image is shared by multiple right-wing Facebook users and is also surfaced.
Posts sharing images are accompanied by mocking comments such as “The True Essence of the Left” and “Go Hape the thy Bugs helf Yeexpally”, which many users seem to believe portraying real interviews.
But a reverse search on Google found that the images were originally posted on Instagram on July 2, Lil Doge is a Korean imitation artist known for creating satirical AI-generated content, mostly related to politics.
The original post states: “These are images created by AI based on real-life facts” (archive link).
Lil Doge's account has a similar AI parody of people, just like his YouTube pages, which also generate millions of views (archived here and here).
A closer examination of the images also reveals obvious signs of the AI generation.
The speaker has more than five fingers on the left hand in the first picture, and her index finger seems to be copied.
The microphone clutched her face tightly, with additional, ridiculous rope sprouting.
Furthermore, the background and number of people behind it change inexplicably between the two images.

Although generated AI technology is improving rapidly, visual inconsistencies persist and are the best way to identify fabricated content.
