KKL-JNF releases rare collections of the 40s, photos of childhood summer in Israel

“These historic photos are a powerful reminder of the simplicity, innocence and freedom that once defined Israel's childhood,” said Ifat Ovadia-Luski, chairman of KKL-JNF.

Keren Kayemeth Leisrael-Jewish National Foundation (KKL-JNF) has released a series of rare photos that offer a glance at the summer holidays in the state of Israel in the 1940s and 1950s.

The organization shared rare photos on Sunday highlighting the unique childhood atmospheres of Israel’s early years preserved through the lens of some of the country’s most iconic photographers.

These images include moments like the time when children play music on the lawn near the house, teenagers set up summer camps under trees, young children enjoying piles of fresh corn cobs, games in the alleys, and children spending time in the open air.
