Porsche sales fell globally in the first half, China led the downturn
Story: German luxury sports car maker Porsche fell in the first half of the year on Tuesday (July 8).
This is attributed to challenging market conditions and fierce competition, which is sluggish in the Chinese market by 28%.
Sales by automakers worldwide fell 6%, delivering more than 146,000 vehicles worldwide.
North America proved to be a highlight, with sales growing by one tenth.
Porsche also saw its delivery in the first half of the year increase by more than 14% compared with the same period last year.
The automaker said 36% of the vehicles shipped are electrical.
Uncertainty for automakers around the world continues.
Mercedes-Benz said on Monday that its second-quarter sales fell by 9%.
The German giant accused the impact of tariffs.
