Ewan McGregor begged to fix the roof to his £2 million Scottish mansion.
The 54-year-old Hollywood actor applied to replace the roof of the Scottish retreat after the architect said it was “unrepairable”.
In application submitted to Perth and Kingross Council Train Investigation Star's representatives asked for the replacement of lead roofs with a single-layer film Sarnafil.

“Lead theft can also be a common problem, especially in remote or fragile buildings like this, replacing similar materials from a security standpoint.”

But the Council denied the application, saying it would not “preserve the beautiful details of the building and its special architectural interest.”
The judgment reads: “The approval will be contrary to the local development plan 2 policy 27a of Perth and Kingross, which facilitates retention and sympathy as the proposed replacement roof structure, single-layer film and PVC slabs and lantern roof lighting will adversely affect the character and special architectural materials of the listed building and the special structural effects of the materials and roofs through the construction materials and the roofs, and will affect the special construction functions of the roofs.
Mr McGregor reportedly purchased a C-class building at the location where he was born in 2023.

He was also given a green light to repair the “yellowing” and “water damage” of the house.
