Doge agent, Finance Secretary repairs IRS on Crusade

As the Ministry of Government Efficiency (DOGE) hopes to cut waste and correct inefficiency, a Doge consultant revealed that it is “it’s hard to really grasp the scale of the problems facing the IRS”.

“A big part of our government is collecting taxes. We can't perform the basic functions of taxes without paying all of these contractors. We do have to figure out how to get rid of this loophole. We are in a very deep hole right now,” Doge representative Sam Corcos said on “Ingraham Angle.”

“Doge Bro” sheds light on his work in the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to get the federal government to trim fat with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Trump's finances

Corcos told Fox News host Laura Ingraham that one of his main priorities in his six-month schedule is to look at the IRS modernization program and other operations and budgets.

“It's a huge plan, currently 30 years behind the plan, and the budget is over $15 billion,” he said. “The IRS has some pretty legacy infrastructure…the challenge is how do we move it to a modern system?”

The CEO and co-founder of the level has observed that many of the major banks operating on similar systems have been modernized. He added that the IRS lags behind by thirty years and has a budget of over billions of dollars compared to typical expectations in the industry.

“We've been in the program for 35 years. If you ask them now, it's been five years, five years since 1990. It should have been delivered in 1996, and it's still five years now,” he said.

The Treasury Secretary, who was recently identified as President Donald Trump, added: “One of the biggest surprises for me is seeing how these deeply rooted interests revolve around power, around systems, systems, no one cares about it.”

The Secretary drew attention to another problem facing the U.S. Supreme Taxation Service.

“Many of the staff are great. It's this advisory group. They're like pythons. They're like pythons.” “They restrict themselves around our government and the cost is incredible. They're passed on to American taxpayers.”

Corcos also claims that about 80% of the $3.5 billion IRS operation are granted to contractors and licenses.

The IRS is one of many federal agencies and agencies under scrutiny by the Doge and Trump Administration. Since Trump took office, Musk-led departments have aimed at tearing down government bureaucracy, cutting regulations, cutting wasteful spending and reorganizing federal agencies.

However, recent scrutiny of many Democrats has continued.

“The ingrained interests, consultants, Democrats, mainstream media, they just want to blow this project out of the water,” Bessent told Ingraham. “It's the opposite of government efficiency, not elimination, not extinction. Sam and his crew are making working for the American people more efficient. So, is it better, cheaper, faster, more privacy?”

Bessent said his first three priorities at the collection agency were “collections, privacy and customer service,” which he argued “none of these were well served.”

“We want people to be happy with the service they deserve, they pay a fair share instead of less than less. And, it’s done quickly, smartly, privately.”
