Breyer Capital Appointed Bret Bostwick as its new venture capital advisor. He most recently served as Senior Medical Director at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, where he co-invented multiple RNAi therapeutics. Prior to that, he served as chief of pediatric genetics at Texas Children's Hospital.

cone health Appointed Paul Krakovitz as new CEO. Krakowitz, who will start in March, currently serves as a resident executive at private equity firm Cressey & Company. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at Intermountain Health and the Cleveland Clinic.

Dex Carea startup that provides a platform for healthcare systems to help them coordinate and manage digital care, welcomes Rakshay Jain as Chief Product Officer. Prior to joining the company, he served as Vice President of Product Management at Innovaccer.

Tracy Beth Høeg becomes the company’s new director U.S. Food and Drug AdministrationCenter for Drug Evaluation and Research – This is the fifth person appointed to lead the center in 2025. She is a sports medicine physician who joined the agency in March as special assistant to the commissioner.

Heart Rhythm Association Appointed Christina Vorster as new CEO. Wurster, who will start in March, currently serves as CEO of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, a position he will hold starting in 2021. Prior to that, she served in leadership roles at the Heart Rhythm Society for more than 12 years.

Thomas Carlo joins companion care company dad Serves as new Chief Technology Officer. Previously, he spent more than a decade at Atlantic Health System, primarily in clinical analytics leadership roles.

A value-based kidney care company strive to be healthy welcomes Keith Bellovich as its new chief nephrologist. Prior to joining the company, he served at Henry Ford Health, most recently as chief medical officer at St. John's Hospital, a Detroit health system.

Community Health System (CHS)One of the nation's largest for-profit health systems named Kevin Hammons as its new permanent chief executive officer and Jason Johnson as its new chief financial officer. Both executives have been serving in interim roles since October. Hammons first joined CHS in 1997 and has since held various leadership positions, primarily with financial management responsibilities. Johnson joined the health system in 2012 as vice president and assistant corporate controller.

American Hospital Association Appointed Charlene MacDonald as new Chief Executive Officer. She joins the organization in 2023 as executive vice president of public affairs. Prior to joining FAH, she held leadership positions at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and FTI Consulting, and spent nearly 10 years in senior policy positions in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.

Rick Pollack, CEO American Hospital AssociationAnnounced plans to retire at the end of 2026. He has been with the organization for 43 years, including more than a decade as CEO.

layoffs

Headquartered in Northern California alameda health system There are plans to lay off 296 employees across departments, including clinical care, administration and support. Health systems say the layoffs are the result of millions of dollars in lost revenue from a Trump administration beauty bill.

Vibra Specialty Hospital Portland The company will close in February and lay off more than 300 employees due to financial difficulties.

Intercept Pharmaceuticals The company announced plans to lay off 146 people in New Jersey after its only commercial drug, Ocaliva, voluntarily withdrew from the U.S. market.

In order to cut costs, Pfizer It will reduce its headcount in Switzerland from about 300 to about 70 people by the end of 2025.
