Impromptu performance of terrace table

This table was built in the form I made for fiberglass, so it was a new shower tray and therefore a curious shape. So the desktop is the exact copy of our shower–if you are curious, now you know. The legs come from the potato tower. They are sunbathed with 1×1, and are also from the potato tower.
The tools used to build this are my big saw, dovetail saw, stereotypical chisel, hammer, a square, 6 fixtures and a block plane.
The shower tray is very large in a “standardized part” way because it must exactly match the size of the shower tray. All angles are 45 degrees. Gluing glue together is very challenging. Then, cut the plywood into some too large bottom/top and plan to match.
Place the shower tray (inverted) on the frame. The frame is made of top wire. I clamped my legs to the pan and connected my legs to the legs in half size, just place 1×1 above the legs and saw it into some pencil marks. It's an “organic” way to do it when the parts are mounted to each other instead of cutting everything first and assembling everything later. This way, any errors can usually be corrected in the next step. Once the frames are glued together, the shower tray is moved from the bottom (where the legs are supported) to the top. complete!
This is a beautiful little table. (The chair is from Freecycle.)
What is the focus of this article?
- The total cost is low, but not as low as getting a free table on Craigslist or Freecycle.
- I readjust something that I've already paid for even less – building this table doesn't require shopping.
- Over the past year, I've taught myself everything I know about woodworking – while I can't build something beautiful (but) I can build something quite reliable. So can you.
Frugality doesn't mean sitting on the floor without a table. (I think that's what minimalism means; p…just kidding!) This means not buying a $89.95 table on furniture sales for the next 36 months at 0% interest.
