Cavill told CNN host that the Trump administration has collapsed

Democratic strategist James Carville believes the Trump administration collapsed in less than three months.
In the plans of CNN host Michael Smerconish, Carville announced that President Donald Trump's second term was earlier than he expected.
“I don't know. I think I have to wait longer to crash. It happens even faster than I thought it would.”

Democratic strategist James Carville told CNN host Michael Smerconish that he believes the Trump administration has collapsed.
Smerconish raised the topic, referring to Carville's recent forecast in the New York Times that the Trump administration would collapse. In a February column, Cavill suggested that the Democrats play death and wait for a collapse.
“Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is retreat on the direct battlefield and move in the other direction,” he said. “It won't take a long time. Public support for this administration will fall on the floor. This is already happening.”
Smerconish questioned Carville, wondering why Trump is at its lowest point in modern history and why Trump could lose some recognition.
Strategists say the left can take advantage of this moment. “Well, first of all, this is the honorable opportunity for the Democrats to redefine themselves and see it as a reality, and obviously some people in the news media are not–this is the worst crisis we have encountered in the United States in the past 80 years.”

Cavill continued that the Trump administration represents “the end of the rule of law.”
He added: “We are working on Nickrops, insight and harlequin.”
Although Cavill insists that Trump is collapsing, recent polls show he has performed better than his first term in at least his presidency. A Gallup poll of U.S. adults in the first three months of 2025 saw Trump’s approval rate of 45%, compared to 42% he received in 2017.
A national Fox News poll conducted on March 14-17 showed that 49% of Americans agree with the work Trump is doing.
Given what happened to his bold 2024 election forecast, some observers may be skeptical of Cavill's predictions and manifesto about Trump's favor among American voters. In a few weeks of written writing in the New York Times, a few weeks before Election Day, Cavill declared: “Everything will be fine in the United States. Ms. Harris will be elected the next president of the United States. I'm sure.”
