Residents say Birmingham shop owners are cashing in on a garbage strike by raising the price of rat poison in the infestation. Locals say the cost of rat bait soars as demand is increasing, as ongoing industrial action has brought the city into its fourth week. After the famous TV series “Peak Blind”, the giant rat that invaded the streets was even given the nickname “Squeaking Blind”. Birmingham City Council has been moving garbage bins to collect in an effort to remove approximately 17,000 tons of uncollected garbage.
