Bomb explodes near the main office of the Greek Railway Company in Athens: Police – Country

Authorities said a bomb exploded in central Athens outside the Greek train offices of Greece's major railway company on Friday. There were no reports of injuries immediately.

Local media said a newspaper and news website received an anonymous call shortly before the explosion, and the caller warned that bombs had been planted outside the railway company's office and exploded within about 40 minutes.

Police blocked the site along a major avenue in the Greek capital, keeping residents and visitors away from buildings in areas with several bars and restaurants. Police officers at the scene said a bag with explosive devices had been placed near the Greek train building on Syngrou Avenue.
