DEM Senator Meets Abrego Garcia; El Salvador Says Prisoners Will Be Detained

Senator Chris van Hollen, D-Md. , flew to El Salvador this week to meet with the deported illegal alien Kilma Abrego Garcia, before being rejected several times and approved Thursday night.

Van Hollen said in an article on X: “I said the main goal of this trip was to meet Kilma.

Garcia, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant who lives in Maryland, was deported last month to El Salvadoran Megaprison’s “Center for Terrorism Incarceration” (CECOT), and officials admitted in court that his deportation was an administrative error, although there are now some senior Trump officials who said he was properly removed from office, he was removed and competed for one of his non-soldiers, MS-13 domm-13 gang. Both the federal court and the Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to “promote” his release and return to the United States for proper deportation proceedings.

Van Hollen announced Tuesday that he would visit Garcia in El Salvador on Wednesday, with other Democratic lawmakers announcing that they plan to visit him as well.

But when Van Hollen arrived, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele left the country, and the Maryland senators met with Vice President Félix Antonio Antonio Ulloa Garay.

“I asked the vice president if he could meet with Abrego Garcia and he said, 'Well, you need to make early rules to visit Cecot,” Van Hollen said.

He told Ulloa that he was not interested in visiting Cecot, he just wanted to meet Abrego Garcia.

“He said he couldn't achieve that,” Van Hollen said of Ulloa.

The senator was also told that if he returns next week, he would not be able to visit nor arrange for Abrego Garcia to talk to his family over the phone.

Van Hollen continued to work hard to get into Cecot on Thursday, but he was denied.

Van Hollen said on X: “We’re there for a simple reason: checking his well-being, his family and attorneys are not allowed to do so.

His goal of meeting Abrego Garcia was later awarded, and images of the two men showed them sitting on tables of water and coffee in the tropical region. Other photos shared by Buckler show water cups, with seasoned rims and cherry decorations, with Senator Van Hollen shaking hands with Abrego Garcia.

“Kilmar Abrego Garcia, miraculously rising from the 'death camp'&' torture, now drinking margarita with Senator Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador!” Buckley yelled in a post on X.

“Now that he has been confirmed to be healthy, he is honored to stay in the detention center in El Salvador,” Buckler wrote in another article.

Earlier in the day

The Department of Justice (DOJ) asked the U.S. Court of Appeals' Fourth Circuit to cancel the order that judges “promote” Abrego Garcia's return from Cecot, but the court rejected the request Thursday.

The three judges’ panel includes Judge Harvie Wilkinson, appointed by President Ronald Reagan, and was appointed by President Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, respectively.

The court held that Wilkinson repeatedly referred to Abrego Garcia as a “resident” even though Abrego Garcia was not a legal U.S. resident.

The Justice Department's request was “extraordinary and premature” and it would not interfere with the efforts of district court judges to enforce the Supreme Court's ruling.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Abrego Garcia would not be allowed to return to the United States unless El Salvador decides otherwise. “He hasn’t returned to our country.”

The Trump administration released information on Wednesday indicating that Abrego Garcia's wife accused him of repeatedly abused her.

Fox News obtained written domestic violence charges filed in court by his wife Jennifer Vasquez in 2021 against 29-year-old Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

In the filing, she wrote in Vasquez's own handwriting, claiming that Abrego Garcia had repeatedly beaten her, writing: “At this point, I'm afraid to get close to him. I have multiple photos/videos that show how violent he is, all his bruises and all his bruises [has] Leave me. ”

The Department of Homeland Security has also released a proof that Abrego Garcia is a member of the infamous MS-13 gang, and the Trump administration has declared foreign terrorist groups.
