Aeroflow Health unveils new diabetes management plan

Health technology company Aeroflow Health announced last week a new diabetes management program designed to improve compliance, outcomes and care coordination among health program members.

Aeroflow Health, headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina, was founded in 2001 and offers a range of medical devices covered by insurance. The company has four lines: Aeroflow breasts, Aeroflow diabetes, Aeroflow Sleep and Aeroflow Urology. In addition to medical devices, it provides education and consultation. The company has partnered with more than 1,000 insurance plans to serve more than 1.4 million patients each year.

Through the new diabetes program, patients can access educational content on how to manage their condition, including medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and glucose monitoring strategies. They can also use the new AI-powered digital health tool that synchronizes with continuous glucose monitoring data. This allows patients to gain personalized insights about health, AI-driven coaching, and communication with providers.

Additionally, patients can receive medical nutritional therapy – behavioral health support from registered dietitians to help them develop meal plans and develop healthy habits. Patients can also participate in interactive categories about diabetes management, as well as webinars covering healthy cooking and physical exercise advice. With an online storefront, patients can check their benefits and access products and services, such as continuous glucose monitors and blood pressure monitors.

Meanwhile, Aeroflow’s health program partners receive data on patient outcomes and engagement, which allows them to “enable strategic decisions and with a personalized approach to support the well-being of patients,” said Casey Hite, CEO of Aeroflow Health.

“Health plans can improve the quality of care, which reflects the improved satisfaction scores of patients who are more involved and supported in healthy travel,” Hite said in an email.

According to the American Diabetes Association, the program was launched when approximately 38.4 million Americans (11.6% of the population) suffer from diabetes. About 2 million Americans suffer from type 1 diabetes, including 304,000 children and adolescents.

“These numbers show that quality care and the wider need for care are pleasing, enabling these patients to live healthy, fulfilling lives,” Hite said. “Aeroflow’s goal under the launch of the program is to help patients understand and better manage diabetes. … By aligning themselves with advanced digital tools, we are continuing our mission to deliver a patient-centered holistic and patient-centered approach to diabetes care.”

To measure the success of the new diabetes program, Hite added that Aeroflow Health will track patients’ health outcomes, including reduced A1C, overall weight loss and blood pressure measurements. The company also aims to acquire more health program partners through the launch of the program.

Several other companies also offer diabetes management programs for health program members, including Omada Health, Virta Health and Teladoc Health.
