Zelensky slams Russia's “highest dog racism”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of cynicism on Sunday, saying Russia's attack on Ukraine continued a few days ago, ahead of the Kremlin's three-day unilateral ceasefire.
He wrote in the telegram: “The Russians demanded a ceasefire on May 9 and opened fire every day in Ukraine. This is the highest order of cynicism.”
He said the Russian military attacked Ukraine with 1,180 drones and 1,360 air bombs in a week.
Last night alone, last night alone, the Donetsk and Sumy areas have been hit by heavy air bombs since Sunday morning, Zelensky said.
Zelensky reiterated that Ukraine remains open to the ceasefire, but not only applies to Russian celebrations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a unilateral 72-hour ceasefire that coincides with the annual victory parade in Moscow’s Red Square to mark the end of World War II, which was celebrated in Russia on May 9, and was held in Russia on Friday.
The ceasefire is scheduled to begin in Moscow from midnight Wednesday to Thursday and end Saturday to Sunday (2100 GMT Saturday, Saturday, GMT).
Moscow rejected Kiev's proposal to extend the ceasefire to a full 30-day ceasefire.
