U.S. Embassy in Ukraine warns of “major” air strikes in the coming days – Country
The U.S. Embassy in Kiev has warned in the coming days that it has launched a “potentially important” air strike in the coming days.
“The U.S. Embassy in Kiev has received information about potential major air strikes that could occur at any time in the coming days,” the embassy said on its website.
“As always, the Embassy advises U.S. citizens to prepare for immediate asylum in the event of an air alarm.”
The alert came the day after U.S. President Donald Trump repeated calls for a ceasefire in Ukraine and Russia, warning of additional sanctions for those violating Ukraine.
Trump asked on Friday whether he had news to Russia in view of the warning from the U.S. Embassy, which Trump told “both sides” to “end this stupid war.”

Although Ukraine said it was ready to adopt a ceasefire immediately, Russia only proposed a three-day ceasefire this week – Ukraine said it had violated hundreds of ceasefires through continuous attacks.
The White House said Trump called for “very good and productive” with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt spoke with reporters at a White House briefing on Friday and also reiterated that a Trump meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Middle East next week will not happen.
Zelenskyy's chief of staff Andriy Yermak said in Kiev that he spoke to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other officials over the phone Friday about the proposed ceasefire as part of a move toward a peace deal.
Yermak wrote in the telegram: “The main focus is on the prospect of a ceasefire and a peaceful settlement. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov also attended.
“The importance of implementing the key points that our president agrees is also discussed,” Yermak wrote.
Zelenskyy said on Friday that Kiev will hold a meeting of European leaders on Saturday.
