Britain seeks state as a “return hub” for immigration: Starmer – Country

The UK government is negotiating with unspecified third countries to discuss immigrants sent to them who were denied staying in the UK and exhausted legal options to avoid deportation.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer is under pressure to show that he can control immigration – an emotional theme for many voters who think it is too high, and there is a continuous decade of government trying to strengthen the borders of Britain.

Starmer confirmed on Thursday that he was talking to “many countries” about “returning to the hub” where the UK could send people who do not have the legal right to stay in the country and exhaust all routes of appeal.

Any such deal will be compared with plans formulated by the former Conservative government to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda – Starmer has been dismissed as a gi head and cancelled immediately after winning power in July elections.

Starmer spoke on a visit to Albania, where he announced his work to address gangs that helped migrants travel to the UK, often on small dangerous ships launched from the French coast.

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a press conference with Starmer that a similar pattern of return reached between Italy and Albania would require a thorough testing. So far, the program has faced many judicial obstacles.

Rama said he was reluctant to do so for the UK, although other countries might replicate such deals.

Starmer said he will provide more details on the speech returning to the hub “at the right time.”

In another briefing, his spokesperson raised more about future deals.

“This will apply to those who exhaust all legal routes to stay in the UK, but try to stagnate, whether it is losing papers or other strategies to thwart their removal, a variety of legal strategies can be used,” the spokesperson said.

“Under these recommendations, they will move them to a safe third country while waiting for new documents to ensure they do not have the opportunity to make their evacuation work even harder.”
