Trump's “big beauty bill” failed on the committee in the context of conservative uprising
President Donald Trump faced his first major legislation defeat on Friday, despite a handful of conservatives opposing his “a big and beautiful bill” despite his attempts to assemble Republicans.
The House Budget Committee convened a portion of their legislation Friday after various committees marked a whole week.
Failure may not mean the end of the bill, but rather requires Republicans to regroup and rewrite it to cater to conservative concerns about Medicaid’s job requirements, thus returning Joe Biden’s presidency and furthering on spending cuts in renewable energy tax credits.
The failure of legislation shows that Republicans have only 220 seats, with only 220 seats two more seats than 218 seats.
The vote was held despite Trump's attempt to run for a budget in an article about the Truth Society.
“Republicans have to unite,” a big beautiful bill! “It not only reduces taxes for all Americans, but it will also remove millions of illegal foreigners from Medicaid to protect those who really need it. “Without this legislation, the country will suffer a huge pain, with its taxes rising by 65%. This will be blamed on the Democrats, but it won't help our voters. ”
But Trump's lobbying is too late to make a difference. Members of the House Liberty Caucus are hard-working conservatives who criticized the fact that Medicaid jobs require a job call until 2029.
Norman also said the legislation’s actions were not enough to prevent undocumented immigrants from getting Medicaid. The federal government does not allow Medicaid for undocumented immigrants, but some states use their funds to provide Medicaid to undocumented immigrants.
“Sadly, it's hard for me to do until we get eliminated, and I think we can, we've made progress, but it only takes time,” Norman said.
Republicans hope to pass the bill (which will expand Trump's tax cuts in 2017, increase spending on immigration enforcement and energy exploration) through a settlement process that will allow them to be related to the budget.
