Domestic violence suspected by police in North Hollywood

Authorities said police shot and killed a man who stabbed a woman to death near North Hollywood Elementary School on Friday afternoon.
Authorities said the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report on domestic violence in the 7800 block of Baker Avenue, which was found by police when they arrived around the 7800 block of Baker Avenue.
According to LAPD, officers faced and eventually shot the male suspect. The exact situation that led to the shooting was not yet clear on Friday night.
Police said both men and women were taken to local hospitals where they succumbed to injuries. Their identities have not been released yet.
Students were playing outside the nearby Arminta Street Elementary School when the violence occurred, according to KTLA. The radio reported that after hearing gunfire, students and staff rushed into the room and the school was locked.
“When my wife called me, she panicked,” local resident Walter Lorente told the station. “She heard gunshots in the street. She ran out and the kids ran away and panicked, which was horrible.”
According to police records, this is the 12th time to be hit by a LAPD shooting.
