He ate “a lot of candy” and likes pink starburst and Tootsie rolls

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s sweets love, his favorites are pink Starbursts and Tootsie Lolls.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a briefing Tuesday for the children of journalists who covered the White House. It was part of the White House organizing a day’s event as it observed annual daughter and son attending workday events.

The Republican president and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, also held their own separate incident.

A child asked Levite about Trump's daily candy consumption. She described his intake as a “good quantity” and added: “He likes pink Starburst and Tootsie rolls.”

Some issues with executive policy, such as the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border and what Trump is willing to do with climate change.

But there are more questions about his favorite foods, and they led Leavitt to share that Trump also likes to eat “big and beautiful steaks”, ice cream sundaes and chocolate sauce and some toppings, as well as McDonald's hamburgers and fries.

She seems to be haunted by some inquiries, including the president’s favorite footballer and his favorite kids. Trump has five adult children.

“It's a very controversial question, and I won't answer that,” Levitt said after the laughter subsided. “I know he loves all his kids very much, they are great kids.”

Earlier Tuesday, the first lady joined dozens of children, with parents working in the presidential executive office to decorate the wooden American flag.

After sitting down at one of the two tables at Jacqueline Kennedy Garden on the South Lawn, she used a glue stick to her red, white and blue flags. The first lady admires the children's works and tells them that their works are “beautiful”.

The president visited Capitol Hill earlier on Tuesday to take a tax cut and spending bill, which he hopes Congress passes. After he returned, he was scheduled to hold public events with children on the South Lawn, but the White House later decided to object to news coverage.

Later, an aide shared on social media the president danced in front of some children outside the south gate of the executive mansion.
