Stephen Colbert

CBS late night host Stephen Colbert roasted his boss on Tuesday in Paramount, reportedly considering a $30 million settlement with President Donald Trump to resolve his $20 billion lawsuit.
Colbert considered a “dark” solution with Trump among his boss at Paramount, noting that Democrats warned that settlements could violate bribery laws.
Last October, Trump initially sued CBS News on $10 billion charges and involved a “60-minute” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris, which aired a few weeks before the presidential election (the amount has since jumped to $20 billion).

Colbert reportedly criticized his boss at Paramount for reporting a $30 million settlement with Trump to resolve a $20 billion lawsuit filed by the president.
Colbert pointed out that there are reports that a $30 million settlement could be reached, and that Paramount hopes to clear the pathway to a planned merger with Skydance Media, which requires approval from Trump's FCC. The sudden resignation of CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon on Monday also exacerbated the reconciliation rumours.
Colbert responded to the coverage that attracted listeners, “$30 million to $50 million?
He continued to say criticism of potential agreements that could violate bribery laws.

“Now, because of the sound of giving your broadcast license approval through a rash lawsuit is so dark, Senators Ron Weeden, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders sent a letter to Paramount headquarters, bringing Paramount a letter to propose such a possible solution that violates the bribery law.”
Colbert joked that despite his love for the people he works, he would testify on behalf of Paramount on behalf of Trump’s claim “a low price of $50 million.”
“Come on Paramount. Let's talk about Türkiye. Dad just wants his beak wet. You cut the check and zipper!” Colbert laughed. “Obviously, I’m kidding.

Late night hosts continued to mock the lawsuit, seemingly mentioning Trump’s acceptance of a plane from Qatar as a gift from his presidential library.
“Mr. President, I'm willing to testify for $50 million and $1 in this lawsuit,” he joked. “Remember, sir, this is not a gift for me. It's a gift to the President's Library and Pizza Hut.”
