Government condemns Israel for opening fire to diplomats in the West Bank

After the diplomatic delegation near the Zhanning refugee camp that occupied the West Bank opened fire on the diplomatic delegation, its troops condemned Israel to Israel.
Israeli troops said its soldiers fired a “warning gun” after foreign diplomats representing the EU, Britain, Russia and China, which deviated from the previously agreed route.
“[Israeli] “Soldiers operating in the region fired warnings to keep them away,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.
No one was injured in the incident.
Here are some reactions from political leaders to the incident:
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney
The Israeli ambassador has been called to global affairs to visit the minister and explain. We expect a thorough investigation and hope that what happened can be explained immediately. This is totally unacceptable, and of the many things that are happening in the region, some are totally unacceptable.
Hamish Falconer, Deputy Minister of the British Parliament
Today's event at Zhan Ning is unacceptable. I've spoken to the affected diplomats. Civilians must always be protected and diplomats allow them to do their jobs. A comprehensive investigation must be conducted and responsibility should be assumed.
Irish Prime Minister Michel Martin
I was deeply shocked and frightened [Israeli forces] Today, fire was opened on a group of diplomats visiting Zhanning Town. Thankfully, no one was killed or injured.
I condemn this aggressive, threatening and violent act without reservation. This is not, it is by no means a normal way of behavior.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani
We ask the Israeli government to clarify immediately what happened. Threats to diplomats are unacceptable.
Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp
Diplomats should be able to do their jobs and threaten them is unacceptable. I call the Dutch representative on the Palestinian Territory and our Ambassador to Israel and rest assured that the delegation was not hurt. We condemn the shooting, ask Israeli authorities to clarify, and further steps are being considered.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot
Israeli soldiers visited Jenin to Jenin, who was attended by one of our diplomats. This is unacceptable. The Israeli ambassador will be called to explain. Full support for our agents on site and their outstanding work under trial conditions.
Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen
This is a very serious and condemned incident. I had a conversation with Finnish diplomats who were present in this situation. We ask Israel for an explanation of this situation.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Los Rasmussen
It is unacceptable that Israel fires a gun near foreign diplomats. It has no place anywhere and is completely unacceptable.
The Denmark's missionary head in Ramallah is one of the diplomats, fortunately safe. Given the seriousness of the situation, I ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convene the Israeli ambassador so that we can get an official explanation.
Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot
I was shocked to learn that the Israeli army opened fire today on 20 diplomats, including Belgian colleagues. Fortunately, he is very good. The diplomats are formally visiting Jenin, who is coordinating with the Israeli army, consisting of 20 clearly identifiable vehicles. Belgium demands that Israel have a compelling explanation.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide
I condemn the attack [the Israeli military] A group of diplomats who opposed Zhan Ning today. Under international law, diplomatic and consular personnel enjoy special status and must be protected. These actions are clearly contrary to international law and are very unacceptable.
Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Portugal condemned the attacks of Israeli troops on the diplomatic delegation of the Jenning refugee camp in the West Bank. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs… expressed solidarity with the Portuguese ambassador of the delegation and would take appropriate diplomatic measures.
German Federal Foreign Affairs Ministry
The federal Foreign Ministry strongly condemns the unreasonable fire. We can be lucky that nothing more serious happened.
The organization travels in the West Bank in diplomatic work and coordination with the Palestinian authorities and the Israeli military. The role of diplomats as local independent observers is essential and does not represent a threat to Israel's security interests.
The Israeli government must immediately investigate the situation and respect the inviolability of diplomats.
Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia
Slovenia joins EU partners in condemning the gunshots of foreign diplomats who threaten Jenning Camp.
This intimidation violates the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which is completely unacceptable. We expect Israel's rapid, transparent investigation, comprehensive responsibility and security of all diplomatic missions, unhindered access.
Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Affairs
This is clearly a violation of international law and international humanitarian law and a crime that violates all diplomatic norms.
Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, the official spokesman of the ministry, affirmed the kingdom’s absolute rejection and strong condemnation of this goal, which constituted a violation of diplomatic agreements and norms, especially the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which defined diplomatic work and the granting of diplomatic vaccines.
Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Qatar strongly condemns Israeli occupation forces for opening fire on international diplomatic delegations during their visit to the Zhanning refugee camp in the occupied West Bank and is considered a violation of international laws, conventions and diplomatic norms.
Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs
We condemn the strongest of Israeli soldiers for opening fire on a group of diplomats, including an official from the Turkish Consulate in Jerusalem, who visited the city of Jenning.
This attack that endangers the lives of diplomats is another demonstration by Israel's systematic disregard for international law and human rights. The goals of diplomats not only pose a serious threat to personal security, but also mutual respect and trust that forms the basis of interstate relations.
Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Arab Republic of Egypt stressed its absolute rejection of the incident, which violated all diplomatic norms and called on the Israeli side to provide the necessary clarification on the situation in the incident.
Uruguay's Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called the Israeli ambassador to clarify the incident in Montevideo.
Uruguay urged the Israeli government to investigate the incident and take the necessary measures to ensure protection and allow actions of diplomatic personnel recognized by the Palestinian state.
Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Israeli military justified the action by pointing out that the diplomatic delegation had invaded a “unauthorized area”. However, there was no record of this happening, and no officials close to the delegation warned them in time.
What happened violates article 29 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which establishes the inviolability of diplomatic agents. It must be respected by all the states of the above-mentioned conventions, including Israel.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will ask Israel to provide the clarification necessary for the case at the Mexican Embassy.
