Witnesses say the ambulance convoy has contacted people in Gaza
The delivery of first aid has reached the population of the Gaza Strip after nearly three months of lockdown in Israel, during which humanitarian groups warn of acute hunger.
Jihad Islim, vice president of Gaza Private Freight Truck Association, said a total of 87 trucks carrying flour, food and medical supplies entered the interior of the coastal area.
He added that they headed to the locations of Deir Al-Balah and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. A UN spokesman spoke about about 90 trucks and confirmed the contents of the delivery.
Some bakeries in these places began baking bread with the flour they received at dawn and distributed bakery owners and other witnesses to residents.
Despite the lockdown, aid to Gaza remains insufficient
However, local and international aid workers stressed that the number reached so far is only one drop in the ocean.
According to previous UN information, about 500 trucks will be required to deliver each day to ensure a supply of approximately 2 million Palestinians in Gaza.
Amjad Shawa, director of the Gaza Palestine NGO Network, said aid has not yet arrived in northern Gaza, where demand is particularly terrible. He added that so far the destination trucks account for only a small part of the basic demand.
Israel lifted nearly three months of humanitarian aid lockdown on Sunday, but then some trucks were allowed to enter the sealed coastal areas because the route proposed by the United Nations was too dangerous as the Gaza Strip lasted for days in the Gaza Strip near the Gaza Strip.
Israel defended the lockdown, claiming that the Palestinian militant group Hamas would steal aid supplies and sell them on the black market to fund its fighters and weapons.
Israel's United Nations has not provided any evidence for this.
Palestinians report more than 50 people killed in the Gaza Strip
At least 50 people have been killed and dozens of people were injured in Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip since Wednesday night, according to Hamas-controlled civil defense agency.
The Israeli army issued a directive to residents in the northern part of the region in order to leave their homes as their troops operate in Beit Lahia, Jabaliya refugee camps and other residential areas between the northern border of the region and the city of Gaza.
It said terrorist organizations in these regions are developing “terrorist activities” in these regions. The message was played in Arabic, broadcast in text messages to the phone and through X.
The Israeli military sent similar messages to residents in neighboring areas on Wednesday.
The current conflict began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas and other Palestinian extremists invaded Israel from the Gaza Strip, killing 1,200 people and taking about 250 hostages.
According to the Hamas-controlled Health Bureau, the Israeli attacks have committed a huge attack, and Gaza has since killed more than 53,700 people.
These figures do not distinguish between civilians and radical casualties, but international organizations like the United Nations believe they are largely credible.
Hamas Health Authority: 16,500 minors killed in the Gaza war
Authorities also reported on Thursday that more than 16,500 minors have been killed since the outbreak of the Gaza War in October 2023.
Authorities have killed more than 900 babies, with more than 11,000 children aged 1 to 13 years old. It also publishes a list of names, ID numbers and dates of birth to support its numbers.
Details cannot be verified independently at present.
According to the United Nations, almost half of the residents of the territory are as young as 18 years old.
It has been reported that approximately 20,000 militants in Israel were killed by its military movements. This number cannot be verified independently.
Report: Netanyahu government withdraws all negotiators from Qatar
Israeli media reported on Thursday that the Israeli government will withdraw its entire negotiating team from talks held in Doha to achieve a ceasefire with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Senior members of the team were recalled to Israel on Tuesday, with only the work-level team remaining in the capital of Katari, according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.
The hostage family, still in Gaza, expressed strong criticism of the move.
Key points of the conflict between the two sides include Hamas' demand to end the hostilities in exchange for the release of the remaining hostages.
Israel only agreed with this when Hamas lays down his weapons and the leadership leaves the Gaza Strip. Hamas rejected these requests.
