Air Force says pilots shoot from Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets

Ukraine lost an F-16 fighter plane on Friday morning after an incident on board the ship, despite the pilots ejected safely, the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement.

“Based on preliminary data… there was an abnormality on board. The pilot kept the plane away from the settlement and successfully ejected it.”

The Air Force said the pilot felt good.

It shows that the crash does not appear to be the result of the Russian fire and has appointed the committee to investigate all the circumstances of the incident.

The second crash involving F-16

The crash is the second time since Kiev began obtaining fighter jets from U.S. allies last year, part of a plan approved by former U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration.

In late August 2024, the F-16 crashed and its pilot died while repelling major Russian air strikes.

Ukraine did not disclose the number of aircraft received.
