Canada and Poland defeated to win bronze medal in Women's 3×3 Basketball World Cup

Canada won a bronze medal at the FIBA Women's 3×3 Basketball World Cup and beat Poland 21-9 in Mongolia on Sunday.
Saskatchewan Humboldt veteran Paige Crozon leads Canada with 13 points and 5 rebounds at Sükhbaatar Square.
Hamilton's Saicha Grant-Allen added 5 points and 5 rebounds to the sixth-seeded Canadian.
Cassandra Brown of Vernon, British Columbia and Kacie Bosch of Lethbridge of Alta collected three rebounds, scoring two points and one.
Anna Pawlowska leads Poland with three points and three rebounds.

The Canadian Women returned to the second-seeded Netherlands from a tough 21-15 semi-final loss earlier in the day, which beat No. 12 Mongolia 15-9 with its first title in the gold medal match.
Canada beat Japan 2-2 in the group stage and beat Japan 18-6 on Friday before defeating the Olympic silver medalist 11-10 in the quarterfinals on Saturday. The Canadians lost the last two group stages before reaching the semifinals.

The experienced 3-on-3 player reflects on Canada’s performance in the championship and the team’s growth in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Crozon also performed well against the Dutch with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
The Canadian team has no double star Katherine and Michelle Plouffe of Edmonton who missed the game with minor injuries and scheduling conflicts. Brown and Grant Allen stepped up in their absence.
Canada won the silver medal in the 2022 edition, then finished sixth in 2023 and lost to the United States last summer.
The Canadian men's team ranked 13th in Ulaanbaatar after entering the playoffs with a record of 1-3 in Ulaanbaatar.
