Ceremony Honors late photographer Sebastião Salgado

Rems, France (AP) – A mourning ceremony was held on Saturday in Reims, eastern France to commemorate Sebastião Salgado, a famous Brazilian photographer and environmentalist who died at the age of 81 on Friday.
As his legacy, Lélia Wanick Salgado, along with their sons Juliano and Rodrigo, attended the opening of an art exhibition featuring Rodrigo's works, and the party turned into a tribute to the late artist.
“I remember a lot about Sebasti,” said Salgado's widow. “He is a very active person. He loves life.”
Observing moments of silence in the crowded halls, friends, admirers and artists gathered to pay tribute.
Salgado's powerful black and white photographs capture the suffering and dignity of people around the world, who lived in Paris for fifty years.
According to his family, he has been battling leukemia and is dealing with other health issues recently.
