Phoenix, Pennsylvania. – A local family desperate to bring their father, Vietnam veteran and two-time Purple Heart recipient, back to Chester County after suffering a medical emergency while on vacation in Las Vegas.

Bill Peters, 77, and Cameron Peters, 52, are small business owners and temporarily closed the floral store “Cameron Peters Flower Design” in Phoenixville on March 10, which will be on vacation for the first time in about a decade. Their plan is to reopen again on March 24.
Sadly, Bill attracted flu on his journey and had respiratory failure. He has been at a hospital in Las Vegas since March 18. The family said he had been vaccinated.
What are they talking about
“We're here trying to do everything we can from 2,600 miles away,” said daughter Missy Yetter (Missy Mister). “I miss him, I really hope he's here to come home and we can all take care of him. I know his grandchildren really miss him. I just feel like if we can bring him home, we can be a family and take care of him very much because the last month and a half has been really hard.”
“We have to do everything over the phone, not by his side, and we really want to try to bring him home at this point,” said John Peters, son of Douglas Town Police. “Our father is still on the ventilator. So he can't fly home normally.”

Bill's wife Cameron stayed with him all the time. On Zoom, she told Fox 29 that her husband was in the ICU and was intubated for over 20 days. Two weeks ago, he had a tracheotomy and a feeding tube and showed signs of alertness and said his recovery would take some time.
“A lot. It's definitely a lot to get through it,” Cameron said. “Now he's not medically calm all day. He's smart, he wakes up, he can answer so that I can ask him a question and he'll shake his head yes or no, you guys know very gently, but yes or no.”
By number
A GoFundMe was created for the family to pay for Cameron and Bill, as the florist was their only source of income and has been closed for more than 40 days.
Cameron said the rent, utilities and insurance for its businesses and homes totaled about $7,000 a month.
Not to mention the unexpected spending of Cameron's long-term stay in Las Vegas to take care of the hospital's Bill, and most importantly, funding special medical flights to take Bill home.
“Anyone who can donate, we want to take him home and give back to his contributions to his community over the years,” John said.

After military service, Bill served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT and served as the director of public safety and EMS in Montgomery County.
Bill suffered from chronic lymphocytic leukemia, which was attributed to agents who served in Orange during the Vietnam War.
“His unit was actually the unit based on the movie “row” when it was in Vietnam. He was shot twice, so he received two purple hearts. “We need to take him home, where he can be surrounded by us, where we can take care of him better and make him go home happier.” ”

“He is the sweetest person in the world. He will do anything for anyone. He will never let me down.” “There is no better person in the world than him, obviously, he is my father.”
“The people we know, the customers, and even the people we don’t know who we are, the people we love are overwhelming,” Cameron said. “You’re so grateful when you don’t even know you or even people willing to donate.”
The family said the doctor had cleared the medical flights on the bill and now it was just finding a bill that meets his medical needs and pays for it.
