Child murderer Thomas Sanders faces death penalty again after Biden's replacement

Sanders first met with Lexis' mother Suellen in 2010, while working at a warehouse in Las Vegas, where Lexis and her mother lived.

In a wooded area in the Catahora parish, Sanders shot the girl four times and cut her throat. The hunter found her body in October 2010 and then hunted the perpetrators nationwide. Authorities eventually captured him in November of that year at a truck stop in Mississippi.

Bruget explained that in Louisiana, district attorneys are not able to charge anyone with capital crimes committed by life imprisonment. Such cases are presented to a grand jury.

When Sanders was arrested in 2010, he was arrested on federal charges. Bert explained that he arrested his warrant from the Catahora parish and was never executed due to federal prosecution.
“So, I took it to a grand jury last Monday,” the district attorney said. Bert provided evidence to the grand jury in court on Monday when they decided to sue Sanders on state charges.
