Colorado police say suspects are detained after several people caught fire

Police in Boulder, Colorado said Sunday that several people were injured and that after the suspect was detained, there were reports that someone opened fire at an outdoor shopping center.
Although the FBI immediately described the incident as a “targeted terrorist attack,” Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfearn said it was too early to discuss the motivation, but witnesses were interviewed.
He said: “For me, it is irresponsible.
The boulder attack took place in a popular pedestrian shopping mall, known for attracting tourists and college students.
On Sunday, protesters from a volunteer group called for the release of hostages left in Gaza. The group has multiple chapters around the world, meeting regularly to advocate for hostage release.
Boulder police said there were “several victims” in the attack. Redfearn said the discovery of the harm from the authorities was consistent with reports of people who had individuals caught fire.
Police evacuated several blocks in the Pedestrian Shopping Center area. Shortly after the attack, the scene was tense as law enforcement officers and a police dog walked across the streets to look for threats and directed the public to stay away from pedestrian shopping malls.
