Project 1776 PAC hopes to flip school board seats across the United States

A conservative political action committee hopes to flip the school board seat nationwide as part of the latest trend in school board elections.
In Wisconsin, 20 school candidates recognized by the 1776 Political Action Commission (PAC) won the competition this year and “flipped two seats.” School board elections in Wisconsin are nonpartisan, meaning they don’t show party tags on school board candidates.
Watertown Unified School District and Burlington Area School District are flipped by conservative candidates.
The PAC was launched in 2020 by Ryan Girdusky to fight the progressive leadership of the education system during the coronavirus pandemic. Its mission is to reform school boards across the country by supporting conservative school board candidates.

What is the 1776 PAC project?
In 1776, Steven Forte, executive director of PAC, told Fox News Digital that Girdusky was shocked by the books used in the classroom, and he and other parents thought it was too inappropriate for children.
“He got the idea, if that happens here, it could be happening elsewhere in the country, and we should start moving forward and get school board candidates elected and that will be able to fight those things,” Ford said.
Forte further explained that 1776 Project PAC, founded in 2021, noted learning losses caused by learning induced by school lockdowns, declining grades and eroding standards in the classroom.
“The PAC program in 1776 is indeed committed to ensuring that the school's academic achievement, academic achievement and academic standards are maintained in the school and that the school is not instilled,” Ford said.
“Sometimes we donate directly to candidates, and sometimes we donate in tandem events, which means we do emails, digital advertising, text messages – we range from what we do for candidates and the most useful things that suit them best,” Ford said.
The PAC program in 1776 stated that it had supported 352 school competitions and won more than 200 school board seats across the country.

Although school board members are directly elected by voters, most school board competitions are technically nonpartisan. Some school districts appoint school board members or have a combination of both.

Since 2022, the Conservative Party has supported the promotion of the conservative group of school board candidates. The Virginia-based American Principles Program (APP) first participated in the Florida school board competition in 2022. The group poured money into Democrats, criticized key racial theories and gender awareness, and announced an attack ad to the Democrats.

Since the Covid-19 pandemicSchool board meetings sometimes become a controversial conflict between parents and school board officials, sparking debates about how much control parents have over their children’s education.

At the federal level, President Donald Trump is trapped in a cultural war problem. The Commander-in-Chief issued an executive order this year that retains any school district that receives federal funding must comply with anti-discrimination mandates, as well as a range of other mandates to address diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in schools.
“However, in recent years, parents have witnessed schools indoctrinate their children with radical anti-American ideology while deliberately blocking their parents' supervision,” the White House announced.
