Silver fire moves quickly in the gust of wind

A wildfire in Inyo and Mono counties stimulated the evacuation Sunday night as it spread rapidly under strong winds and low humidity.

According to the California Forestry and Fire Department, vegetation fires were reportedly at 2:11 PM and Silver Canyon Road on Highway 6 north of Bishop.

Cal Fire Bdu said in an article on X that the fire jumped up to the highway and threatened to “multiple structures.”

According to Cal Fire, at least 1,000 acres of fires burned as of 7:50 p.m. More than 200 people were fighting the fire on Sunday night, which was 0%. According to the Las Vegas National Weather Service, the fire moved east and northeast at a “fast speed”.

Strong winds and dry conditions hinder combat in the air. According to Cal Fire BDU, several firefighting aircraft were rooted in Bishop's airport due to “extreme unrest”.

The weather service reported gusts of winds of 25 to 35 mph and relative humidity of about 10%. Advanced warnings were set to take effect from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with the National Weather Service predicting gusts up to 65 mph.

Mandatory evacuations were carried out in parts of North Eo County and southeast Single County, including in the Inyo County laws, Chalfant and White Mountains Wilderness areas of Mono County. About 30 miles of our Highway 6 were closed.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an evacuation center was established at the Benton Community Center on Benton Highway 120.
