According to Reuters, 12 climbers died in 2023, while five were missing after 478 hiking permits issued by Nepal.

Lukas Furtenbach of the Austrian adventure, Austrian expedition organizer, told Reuters that the demands of the Himalayan experience “do not make sense.”
“I will also add nearly 7,000 meters of mountains to this list and will be widely used as preparatory work, such as Ama Dablam, Aconcagua, Denali, etc.,” Furtenbach said.

Garrett Madison of Madison Mountaineering has a similar view, telling Reuters that the 6,500-meter peak anywhere in the world would be a better idea.
“It's hard to find a reasonable peak of over 7,000 meters in Nepal,” the US-based expedition organizer responded.

According to data from climbing the Kilimanjaro Mountains, about 700 and 1,000 climbers try summits each year, with success rates ranging from 60% to 70%.
