Former U.S. Attorney Jessica Aber found dead in Virginia at 43
Jessica Aber, a former U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead Saturday morning in Alexandria, Virginia, according to police.
She is 43 years old.
Police in Alexandria, Virginia were asked to go to a home on Beverly Avenue in Washington, D.C. around 9:18 a.m. Saturday to report a report from a non-responsive woman, according to a police statement. They found that Uncle was dead inside.

Police said an investigation is underway around her death. Police said the Chief Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and mode of death.
Aber, who served as a U.S. attorney in Virginia for much of the Biden administration, took office in October 2021 after the Senate unanimous confirmation and resigned in January.
As a U.S. attorney, Aber oversees about 300 prosecutors and other staff members and handles federal prosecutors in the state.
According to an online biography, she has been working in the office since 2009, serving as an assistant U.S. attorney, prosecuting cases of financial fraud, public corruption, violent crime and child exploitation.

She received her law degree from William and Mary Law School in 2006.
“We feel silent about the death of friend and former colleague Jessica Aber,” the U.S. attorney who is now Erik Siebert in the East Side of Virginia, said in a statement. “She is an unparalleled leader, mentor and prosecutor, and as human beings, she is simply irreplaceable. We are in awe of her accomplishments in this world for too short time.”
Siebert’s claim to be “a proud Virginian from high school to college and throughout his career,” his statement continued, “Her professionalism, grace and legal acumen set the standard. Although we are frustrated by this loss, each of us in the Eastern Virginia Region (EDVA) (EDVA) will seek her role model and effort to achieve that standard.”
Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said in a statement that he felt sorry for learning about her death, saying: “The occupations of public service include the U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, who has worked with a ceasefire to save more of our lives.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family this week,” he added.
